Brenwin Guest House

During my South Africa trip, due to the big group size, I booked most of our accommodations when we were in Malaysia. Though I love to improvise my road trip, it is hard to find accommodations for huge group so I decided to keep my spontaneity for group size 4 or less.

However, still, I didn't book the accommodations for our last few nights in Cape Town. I decided that we can find a neighbourhood that we love after we touch down at Cape Town.

The first 2 nights when we were at Cape Town, we stayed at B.I.G. I love Sea Point very much and I decided that we can stay in Sea Point again for our last 2 nights. B.I.G. was fully booked so we ended up stayed at Brenwin Guest House, which is on the same row as B.I.G., on the other end. This means walking distance to Two Ocean Aquarium Hop-On Hop-Off Bus station, and many other things else.

It's a very pleasant small guest house, old fashioned but clean and cozy.

We arrived very early in the morning (around 9am). We were thinking of storing our luggage here, go sightseeing, and come back to check-in in the evening. However, the well-mannered, soft-spoken manager was so kind that she allow us to have early check in. Not only that, she also gave us a lot of tips for nice places to eat around this area.

We booked a standard double rooms, but one of the rooms we booked were under maintenance and hence we got a free upgrade to an apartment. It has a small kitchenette, a living area, and a small private courtyard in front of the apartment. We immediately fell in love with our apartment.

The room rates include breakfast too. There were fruits, cold cuts, breads, cheese, muesli, juices, tea, coffee and milk at the buffet bar, and you can order your mains from the waitresses.

Upon the manager's recommendation, we went to a very authentic Italian deli. It is just about 10 minutes walk from the guest house. This shop is almost like our kedai runcit with a stall selling economy rice. You can find almost everything here, and all the prepared food look interesting and delicious!

We ended up with tomato-sauce rigate, couscous and a huge bowl of tomato soup, and this cost only ZAR100.

The best part was, after the meal, we had a nice stroll back to our apartment, with this warm cozy room waiting for us:
